AFGHANISTAN INDEPENDENT HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
This memorandum of understanding (MOU) provides a framed framework for the cooperation between the Afghanistan Legal Research and Development organization (ALRDO), the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace of Law (MPFPR), and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC).
The memorandum serves to clarify and deepen cooperation between the parties and expresses their undertaking to deal with each other fairly and at all-time in the utmost good faith.
Based on the memorandum, the parties undertake to promote the protection and enforcement of human rights law in Afghanistan by together strengthening the institutional capacities of the AIHRC.
AFGHAN WOMEN JUDGES ASSOCIATION
The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for cooperation between the Afghanistan Legal Research and Development Organization (ALRDO), the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and Rule of law (MPFPR), and the Afghanistan Women Judges Association (AWJA) for the years 2020 and 2021. This cooperation has the objective of enhancing cooperation between the parties to this memorandum.
Beneficiaries of the project activities are female judges. To this end, the project activities will be specially geared towards empowering female legal professionals, with a focus on female judges, by strengthening their skills and ability to articulate their views both individually, as members of AWJA, and collectively, as an independent organization.
The parties will strive to empower AWJA’s ability to advocate as a collective body established to promote the role, the representation, and the effectiveness of female legal professionals, with a focus on judges.
The Supreme Court of Afghanistan
The memorandum of understanding signs on 23 of February 2020 between the Afghanistan Legal Research and Development Organization (ALRDO), The Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and Rule of Law (MPFPR), and The Supreme Court of Afghanistan (SC).
The objective of this MOU is to establish a framework for cooperation between the ALDO, MPFPR, and SC for the achievement of their common purposes, namely, to strengthen the professional and legal capacity of female judges in Afghanistan.
The purpose of this MOU is to strengthen individual capacities of female judges, on constitutional law, separation of powers, independence of judiciary fundamental rights and freedom, the principle of a fair trial, the role of Islam in the Afghan constitution, methods of interpretation of laws, especially the constitution.
